2. Information we use
We may use names, work contact details, company and delivery details, account credentials, order and invoice records, support correspondence, portal activity, IP addresses and security logs.
The service also processes tracker identifiers, container references, device health, network information and location history. A business customer is normally controller for that operational data and Howat Ltd acts as its processor.
3. Why we use it
- to respond to enquiries and take steps towards a business contract;
- to provision, deliver, bill, support and secure the service;
- to provide locations, reports, APIs and replacement handling;
- to meet legal, tax, accounting and product-compliance obligations; and
- to improve reliability and protect our legitimate business interests.
4. Service providers and international processing
We use hosting, database, communications, payment, mapping, connectivity, manufacturing and professional-service providers. We disclose only the information they need and use contracts and transfer safeguards where required.
Interactive maps use OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap-derived data. When a map loads, the map provider may receive technical request information such as the user’s IP address and browser details. Map attribution is displayed on each map.
5. Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose, the customer contract, support, security and legal retention. Customer location retention is set by the service configuration or order. We use proportionate access controls, encryption, logging, backups and supplier review, but no service can eliminate all security risk.
6. Your rights
Individuals may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of their personal data and to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Some rights depend on the circumstances and legal basis. Where a request concerns a customer-controlled tracker or user account, we may refer it to that customer.
7. Cookies and changes
The service uses only storage needed for operation and does not use advertising cookies. We will present choices before any non-essential analytics are enabled. We may update this notice as the service, suppliers or law change and will publish the revised date here.
